Salam Alaykum Brothers and Sisters,

Eid Al-Fitr will be determined based on the regional moon-sighting method.

Please note that Eid day has not yet been confirmed. We are currently waiting for confirmation from regional moon-sighting authorities.

Thursday will be the 29th of Ramadan.
 • If the moon is sighted, Eid prayer will be held on Friday.
 • If the moon is not sighted, Eid prayer will be held on Saturday.

We will announce the outcome as soon as confirmation is received. Please wait for the official announcement from Preston Mosque. 

May Allah accept our fasting, prayers, and all acts of worship.

Assalāmu Alaykum,

This needs to be said clearly.

The condition of the sisters’ prayer area over the past nights is unacceptable. We are finding repeated stains and damage on the carpet. This is happening during Ramadan.

Food is being placed on shoe shelves.
Plates and containers are being left behind.
Clothes and items are being hung on the stairs.

After reminders. After announcements.

This is not forgetfulness anymore. This is neglect.

This is the House of Allah.

Would you spill drinks and leave stains like this in your own home? You wouldn’t. So why is it being done here?

The masjid is a place of worship, not a place for tea, coffee, or careless behaviour. If you must have drinks, take them outside. There is no excuse for this continuing.

What is even more disappointing is that volunteers have already addressed this multiple times. It is being ignored. Some are avoiding responsibility or pretending it didn’t happen. This is not acceptable behaviour from anyone, let alone in a masjid.

If you spill something:
Clean it immediately, or inform a volunteer straight away.
If it is dealt with early, it can be removed. If you leave it, it sets into the carpet and causes permanent damage.

As we clean and prepare the masjid for Eid, do your part.
Keep the masjid clean. Clean up after yourself or inform a volunteer immediately.

If you see this behaviour happening, address it. Do not walk past it.
The Prophet ﷺ taught us: whoever sees a wrong, let them change it.

The Prophet ﷺ taught us to honour the masājid. Respect, cleanliness, and accountability are not optional.

We are in Ramadan. This is the time to fix our actions—not ignore them.

From this point forward:
	•	No food or drinks in the prayer area
	•	Respect the space
	•	Follow instructions from volunteers without argument
	•	Take responsibility for your actions

If this behaviour continues, stricter controls will be put in place.

Fear Allah in how you treat His house.

Don’t forget Zakat Al-Fitr before Eid Salah.

The Prophet ﷺ obligated Zakat Al-Fitr so that those in need can celebrate Eid with dignity. It must be given before the Eid prayer.

Pay on behalf of yourself and those you are responsible for in your household.
