The Essence of Today's Khutbah
Reflecting on Nuh a.s. Story & Lessons Therein

i) Our Actions and Deeds and Awareness and not be negligent!
Hadith and Quran: the "mustalik and mustalsfin". When Mankind sees something Evil - work on changing it!
ii) The Qu'ran gives us the hidayaat to Worship the Creator till last breathe. The Believers should save themselves from falling into disbelief.
iii) Hadith: “Whoever among you sees evil, let him change it with his hand. If he cannot do so, then with his tongue. If he cannot do so, then with his heart, which is the weakest level of faith.” (Muslim)
iv) AbuBakr r.a. said, I hear you reciting these verses. La yadhurukum alaykum anfusakum, focus on yourself. La yadhurukum man dalla idha ihtadaytum, you will not be harmed by those who go astray so long as you are guided. _So much happing in the world..._
vi) Nuh a.s. flock were worshipping false deities, instead of Allah SWT. Allah send an annihilating flood to punish who have offended Him.
vii) Nuh a.s. builds an Ark - those disbelievers who not heed the warning are drowned - a few who heed his warning and boarded the Arc are saved along with his family except his one son and wife. He made a final plea to Allah SWT, on behalf of his arrogant son - but to no avail! Nuh a.s. continued giving da'wah and righteous and remained steadfast. When death was approaching he continued his nasiyah against idolatry & arrogance. No deity worthy of worship except Allah.
viii) Lessons: Advising our families, using gentleness & kind words, to what is good for them, and what is pleasing to Allah - in Duniya and Akhirah!
The goal should be to help them become better worshippers of Allah.
ix) Lessons: Essential ideas & understandings you hope will endure when you are no longer with your children. Reminder: Remembrance of Allah SWT. And a belief in tawheed, the Oneness of Allah
x) We should preach dawah in such a way as not to scare folks away from the masajid & Islam. Similarly, our wealth and children...will not benefit be beneficial if in the midst of weakness of faith.Two rakahs in the middle of the night has immense 'barakah'. Ameen! Ya Rabbal 'Alamin!
