🏗️ Community Update: Renovation Project 🏗️

Over the summer, the IOST undertook a major renovation of the old community center, transforming it into a new Classroom Building to better serve the needs of our growing community. Here’s a summary of the improvements made:

📚 New Classrooms:
Eight new classrooms were created, which are now used for daily Qur'an classes, the IQRA After-School Program, and weekend classes at Al-Nur Academy and Ma’rifa Program. 

📖 Library Refresh:
The Words of Wisdom Library was moved to the masjid (former coat areas), given new shelving and flooring, and converted into a welcoming community gathering space.

🛠️ Maintenance:
The masjid received a fresh coat of paint, new mats for the bathrooms, and various cosmetic updates.

While this project has greatly enhanced our facilities, we had to draw from our savings to cover the costs. We encourage those who can to consider contributing to help cover the remaining expenses and lower the deficit.

💰 Total Income: $39,747.50
💵 Total Expense: $50,298.18
➡️ Net Difference: -$10,550.68

This program is designed with a strong focus on young children and all ages, ensuring everyone benefits from learning the correct basics of Qur'anic recitation. ✨ This is a great opportunity for children and adults alike to learn and improve their Qur'an Recitation.

A Mqra'ah or Read Along is where a Qari/Recitor recited, and everyone repeats after him. This is the best way for young and old to learn how to recite the Qur'an properly. The Shaykh will recite today, and allow us to learn how to recite the basic surahs correctly. 

The purpose of today’s program is not only to create an enriching environment but also to ensure that young students learn correctly and build a strong foundation in their Qur'an recitation. 📚

The Words of Wisdom Library at IOST is now open to the public. It is located in the 2nd floor of the masjid, opposite of the masjid prayer halls (in the old coat areas). Let us understand how the voting system works, how to read the ballot, Islamic guidance on political engagement, voting, and more. This program promises to be informative and enlightening and will give us a better idea of what to expect during  the voting process.
