It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Newarun Chowdhury,
Mother of Mujib Chowdhury, who returned to Allah Today.

The Janazah Salah will be performed Tomorrow:

Date: 08/01/2026

Time: 1pm (After Zuhr Salah)

Location: Stevenage Muslim Community Center. The Sishes, Vardon Road. Stevenage. SG15PZ.

Burial Location: Weston Road Cemetery, Stevenage SG1 4DE.

Time: Immediately after the Janazah prayer.

We kindly request your du‘as for the deceased, that Allah ﷻ grants her maghfirah, expands her grave, and grants sabr to the family.

We request brothers from our community to attend the janazah salah tomorrow and support the family in such difficult times.

Please be aware of this when attending the masjid inshallah

Dear brothers and Sisters, 

During the upcoming winter break, we are pleased to announce a Masjid Prayer Attendance Competition for boys aged 7–17 years at SMCC. 

The competition will run from *21st to 30th December* and will focus on attending *Fajr and Isha* Salah at the masjid in congregation.

At the end of the competition, the top three participants with the highest attendance will receive the following prizes:

1st Prize: Flight experience in a real Boeing 747 aircraft simulator

2nd Prize: Indoor skydiving experience at iFLY

3rd Prize: £25 Smyths Toys Store gift voucher

We strongly encourage parents to register their children via the link below even if regular attendance may be difficult.

*Sisters can utilize the ladies gallery when they bring the children for salah.*


Every intention is rewarded, and participation helps motivate and involve our youth in the masjid.

May Allah reward you for encouraging your children to establish Salah and love for the masjid

Cloth bank collection. 

We would like to inform the community that the clothing bank will be emptied by 10am on TUESDAY 23rd of December 2025.

We kindly request everyone to come forward and donate clean, usable clothing for those in need.

If the clothing bank (green container) becomes full, please place additional bags neatly under the stairs in the masjid.

Fundraising Dinner – Stevenage Muslim Community Centre

We are pleased to invite you to our upcoming fundraising dinner in support of the ongoing construction works at the Stevenage Muslim Community Centre. This event is an opportunity for our community to come together, enjoy a meal, and contribute towards an important cause.

Our fundraising target for the evening is £40,000.

Ticket Price: £10 per person
(Guests are welcome to contribute more as a donation if they wish.)

During the programme, the management team will provide a detailed update on the current progress of the construction project, along with the Centre’s future vision and development plans.

Your presence and support will play a vital role in helping us reach our goal and continue building a stronger future for our community.
