for our two Friday Prayers at the Islamic Center of Hawthorne.

🕌 First Khutbah (Sheikh Hamdy Sadek): 1:00 PM
🕌 Second Khutbah (Br. Mahmoud Alamad): 2:10 PM.

📖 Sunnahs and Recommended Actions for Friday:

✅ Take a shower (Ghusl)
✅ Wear your best and clean clothes
✅ Use perfume (for men)
✅ Send lots of blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ
✅ Read Surah Al-Kahf
✅ Go early to the Masjid and listen attentively to the Khutbah
✅ Make plenty of Du‘a, especially before Maghrib

📖 Allah (SWT) says:
﴿يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا نُودِيَ لِلصَّلَاةِ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَاسْعَوْا إِلَىٰ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَذَرُوا الْبَيْعَ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ﴾
“O you who believe! When the call to prayer is made on Friday, hasten to the remembrance of Allah and leave off trade. That is better for you, if only you knew.” - [Al-Jumu‘ah: 9]

📖 The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“مَنْ غَسَّلَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَاغْتَسَلَ، وَبَكَّرَ وَابْتَكَرَ، وَمَشَى وَلَمْ يَرْكَبْ، وَدَنَا مِنَ الْإِمَامِ فَاسْتَمَعَ، وَلَمْ يَلْغُ، كَانَ لَهُ بِكُلِّ خُطْوَةٍ عَمَلُ سَنَةٍ أَجْرُ صِيَامِهَا وَقِيَامِهَا.”
“Whoever performs Ghusl on Friday, goes early, walks to the mosque, sits close to the Imam, listens attentively, and does not engage in idle talk, will have the reward of fasting and praying for a whole year for every step he takes.”

📖 The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also said:
“إِنَّ مِنْ أَفْضَلِ أَيَّامِكُمْ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ، فَأَكْثِرُوا عَلَيَّ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ فِيهِ”
“Indeed, Friday is among the best of your days, so send abundant blessings upon me on this day.”

📖 He ﷺ also said:
“مَنْ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ الْكَهْفِ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ أَضَاءَ لَهُ مِنَ النُّورِ مَا بَيْنَ الْجُمُعَتَيْنِ”
“Whoever recites Surah Al-Kahf on Friday, a light will shine for him between the two Fridays.”
