As salaamu Alaikum ICS COMMUNITY
Reflecting on a truly momentous evening at our Faith 250 gathering! We were honored to welcome close to 70 guests who filled the space to interact, engage, and share in a vibrant evening of shared experiences, rich culture, and warm camaraderie centered around learning history and discussing the course of the world we inhabit. From meaningful dialogue in the hall to breaking bread over shared food, the energy throughout the night was inspiring.
However, the evening also brought a sobering and disheartening reflection. It was sad to see that turnout from within our own community numbers remained underwhelming, whereas the turnout from outside our community was overwhelming. This contrast is extremely telling regarding the level of commitment, support, and involvement shown by neighboring communities who pour into our center at every given opportunity—while our own community continues to show a lack of dedicated effort toward its own growth and presence.
Despite this challenge, it remains deeply joyous and commemorative to experience and participate in events that place our Muslim community directly in the conversation. Moments like Faith 250 showcase our unique ability to serve as guides, educators, and leaders in advancing community growth, mutual understanding, and overall standing.
We express our deepest thanks and gratitude to everyone who made this evening possible and to all who attended. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to host such a large gathering, facilitate spirited interactions, and continue serving as a beacon of learning and connection.
